ORCHARD GRASS HAY

Orchard grass hay is the very best forage to feed to horses, llamas and alpacas. It is high in nutrition and has no waste. We cut the first cutting early for maximum Total Digestible Matter (TDN) and minimum stem material. The second and third cutting have no stems at all and are ideal for llamas and alpacas. Even though more expensive than high stem hay, second cutting orchard grass hay requires less hay stored and less fed. Our experience is that an adult llama will maintain weight on 2.5 - 3 lbs of hay per day.

Our bales are ideal for handling and shipping. They are about 16"x18"x45" and weigh an about 90 lbs. All hay is barn stored.

Because of increasing demand conditions in the Pacific NW, there will be a shortage of hay supply again for the Winter of 2008. We do not know what 2008 will bring, but it is always advisable to secure your Winter supply in advance.
